Remedial Massage

Remedial massage is a targeted treatment focusing on specific areas of the body, usually ones that have a previous history of injury. This type of massage uses a variety of pressures and techniques, such as trigger point therapy, to achieve reduced pain and improved mobility. It is a useful adjunct to a well-rounded care plan that also includes exercise therapy and other self-management strategies.

Deep Tissue Massage/Trigger Point Therapy

As the name suggests, a deep tissue massage uses firm pressure to treat the deeper layers of muscle and fascia. Trigger point therapy uses sustained pressure on known and predictable areas of tension to produce a relaxation effect. This type of therapy can often cause some discomfort and post-treatment soreness; however, it should not be painful.

Sports Massage

Similar to a deep tissue massage, a sports massage uses firm pressure, along with assisted stretching techniques, with the aim to promote recovery after sport or physical activity.

Relaxation Massage

Often referred to as Swedish massage, relaxation massage uses light to medium pressure and broad strokes across the superficial layer of the body. Great for stress relief, you will leave floating on air!

Pregnancy Massage

Pregnancy often comes with certain aches and pains, and massage can help manage these symptoms. Depending on the stage of pregnancy, care is taken to minimise discomfort through proper positioning and support while avoiding any contraindicated treatment techniques. The benefits can be more than just physical, as massage can help reduce stress and anxiety and improve sleep.
